The Richer Picture™ Digital Portfolio System is designed to help your school meet two goals: showing that your students are meeting high standards, while letting them show their individual progress. From pre-schoolers showing their social skills to high schoolers preparing for graduation, the Richer Picture™ system helps students, teachers, parents and administrators get a “richer picture” of student achievement.
Based on over a dozen years of research and practice, the Richer Picture® Digital Portfolio System contains the tools needed for success.
The system includes:
- A secure, easy-to-use web-based software application where students enter their work and make links to standards;
- Online rubrics to help teachers provide timely, personalized feedback to each student;
- Reports that help monitor individual, class, and school progress;
- “Getting started” workshops to help users enter and assess student work - and determine how the portfolios can be most effective in your schools
- A School Coach assigned to your school to help through the whole process - from establishing a team and setting goals to reviewing student work;
- Professional development sessions on a variety of topics, including task development, rubric design, and effective use of multimedia;
- Customization of the software to fit your school or district’s needs.
For each project, Ideas Consulting provides the following:
- Setting up the Richer Picture™ Digital Portfolio software on a Ideas Consulting portfolio server
- Software License for all students and teachers in the identified schools for the 2007-08 school year
- School coaching during the 2007-08 school year
- Phone and e-mail technical support for one or two persons designated as “portfolio administrators”
- Initial systems integration to upload appropriate data from existing student information systems
Hosting on a secure web server
- includes 50 MB * the number of students – ( for example, a school with 100 students would have 5,000 MB
5 GB of server space)
- includes backups and maintenance of the server
*A "project” is a set of schools within the same district that will use the same software. Most districts that have K-12 initiatives with us have two projects: one for its elementary schools and one for its secondary schools.
