Do you need help learning how to use technology (computers, peripherals, digital cameras, video camcorders, thumb drives, the Internet, etc) in your school or at home? Your worries are over. The SPDC can help you. Attend our week long Technology Boot Camp this July. Our goal is help you become a certified technology wizard!

Graduate credit is available from Plymouth State College for an additional fee. Requirements for three graduate credits: Submit lesson plan (s) that incorporate digital video or digital stills; copy of video on a DVD; a 3-5 page reflection journal; certificate of completion.
Do you want to work with a pro digital photographer and a pro digital videographer for a week long workshop developing multimedia projects for your lessons? Do you want to learn how to use your digital camera and camcorder more efectively to achieve more pleasing results? If you anserwed 'yes' to these questions, then the Multimedia Boot Camp is the place for you.

This multimedia bootcamp will offer an opportunity for educators to create multimedia projects to use for their lesson plans or for use on school websites. Educators will be able to teach other educators or students how to incorporate multimedia into learning.

Stepping Stones to Using Data: Building Local Expertise
Graduate credit is available from Plymouth State College for an additional fee. Requirements for two graduate credits: Submit training plan for your school/district that includes dates and times that training will be performed by you; a 3-5 page reflection journal; certificate of completion.
Fee: $350 per person for this two day workshop. Fee includes a light breakfast and lunch NWEA Trainer Manual provided. Audience: Educators using NWEA testing program Dates: July 18, 19, 2006 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Where: Great Bay e-Learning Charter School, Exeter, NH Seats will be filled on a first come, first served basis. Outcomes/Goals: At the end of the session, participants will understand and be able to convey the following information to their district or school staff: ¥ 5 ways NWEA assessments differ from other assessments ¥ Definition of the RIT scale and Norms ¥ How to access and interpret key reports ¥ How to access the website and key resources ¥ Goal-setting processes At the end of the session, participants will have been given an overview of the following ¥ Structuring answerability ¥ Preview of instructional implications *This is a train the trainer model of professional development.

Outcomes/Goals: to learn how to create an online course, and integrate digital media (digital stills, video and audio via podcasting) into an online course. To learn about current and emerging distance learning technologies.
Fee: $450 per person for this 10 day workshop. Educators are welcome to attend one or two weeks. (The fee for one week is $250 per person) A light breakfast and lunch will be served each day. Audience: Beginner level technology user. Week One: Monday Morning Session: What is distance learning? What do you hope to learn? What is good distance learning? What are the current and emerging distance learning technologies? Monday Afternoon Session: Introduction to Moodle (Moodle is a free, open source course management system similar to Blackboard or WebCT) Participants will learn how to use the features of Moodle, and how to get their classes online. Topics to be covered (but not limited to): navigation, course layout, use of block features, course settings, using Moodle resources (web pages, assignments, journals, chat, forum, quiz, etc. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday: The morning is devoted to learning more about Moodle, and the afternoon is devoted to work on creating your own course. Friday: The morning will be a review and or special topics related to distance learning and Moodle. The afternoon will be devoted to final work on course and friendly feedback from other workshop participants.
Week Two: Monday: Digital photography taught by a professional digital photographer. Learn how to take good pictures and perform basic photo editing. Tuesday and Wednesday: Digital videography taught by a professional digital videographer. Learn how to take good video and perform basic video editing. Thursday: Podcasting Friday: Video Conferencing, time to work, critique, and review your work.
