SPEAK UP 2008
Annual Online National Research Project

From the desk of:

Glen H. Page
President - NHSTE

I am writing on behalf of the NHSTE board to let you know that the Speak Up 2008 annual online national research project is beginning again. Many of you may have taken part in this last year, many may not have. Below is an excerpt from an email sent by the program support coordinator, Amanda (Ford) Wortman. As you can see, this survey is meant to collect data from students, teachers, parents and administrators.

I highly recommend that you take part and that you encourage your faculty, staff, administrators, parents and students to take a few minutes to participate as well.

Amanda has provided both a link and her email address if you need more information.

Thanks!

From Amanda Wortman

I wanted to drop you a quick line and let you know about Speak Up, our annual online national research project, that collects the feedback of students, teachers, parents, and administrators on their ideas about science, math, technology and 21st century skills.  The Speak Up data represents the largest collection of authentic, unfiltered stakeholder input on these kinds of education issues. Education, business, and policy leaders report using the data regularly to inform federal, state, and local education programs.

You can find out more information about Speak Up on our website: http://www.tomorrow.org/speakup/, and I am happy to answer any questions you may have about the survey. We traditionally report state level data back to both SETDA and the Department of Education, so I'm sure we could extend the same offer to you. Let me know how we can support your efforts.

All the best,
Amanda (Ford) Wortman
